We are thrilled to announce that reflections 2015: festival of music, arts and learning takes place on Thursday 23rd April at Institute of Education, University of Reading.
This will be the third festival from the reflections series and will include talkshops, swapshops and workshops covering a range of topics including musical inclusion, working with children in challenging circumstances, digital tools for sharing evaluation, group work with music technology, Artsbox – Arts Award’s online evaluation tool and more.
Attendees of the day will be immersed in inspiring discussion and debates, ‘have a go’ music, theatre and dance sessions, talks, music technology workshops and more. As always, the festival programme is structured around plenty of networking opportunities and includes a number of performances from young people that we have worked with.
The programme includes…
– Talkshops, swapshops & workshops.
– Professional development sessions including Arts Award training, music technology, masterclasses and creative surgeries.
– Structured discussions and space to meet Music Hub leaders and arts organisations.
– Seminars working with young people in challenging circumstances and guidance for freelance educators.
– Funding workshop, advice and guidance for self-employed artists.
– Arts Award surgery. Guidance on using ‘Discover and Explore’ in schools and advice on Artsmark.
– Artists’ Share Fair and advice on communicating with schools
– Networking, music making opportunities and space to promote your work.
– Movies and videos, live music, and much more!

From 7PM guests are invited to attend the reflections 2015 evening finale: an evening with Dick Mills and Gagarin.
Join Readipop and friends for an evening of sounds and talks based around electronic music.
Dick Mills reflects on his role as member of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop where he worked with with Delia Derbyshire to create the theme music to Doctor Who – one of the most iconic pieces of electronic electronic music.
Graham Dowdall AKA Gagarin will perform live and chat about how he approaches his music and performs live with technology in a variety of contexts.
