Reading based two-piece Vienna Ditto blend blues, rock, electronica and a sonic homage to b-movie sci-fi to create an eclectic sound that evades comparison.
Members Hatty Taylor and Nigel Firth self-identify this genre-defying trip-hop as “voodoo sci-fi blues”, which they’ve been crafting since 2008 following prior stints in 90s indie band Riser and One Dollar Peep Show. Their output has received acclaim from the likes of Q Magazine, 6Music’s Tom Robinson and BBC Radio One’s Huw Stephens, who praised them for being “like Portishead doing a Tarantino soundtrack”, and has earned them a previous spot at Glastonbury,
Following this success was latest EP Busted Flush, which sees them continue to hybridise music through its fusion of cinematic scope, hypnotic vocals and shimmering Tarantino, Ennio Morricone-esuqe guitars.
