The Target
The Target was an infamous bar and club, especially popular with the punk and rock communities of Reading. It was clearly a much loved venue, with one band naming their album after it – “Live from the Target”.
Today, little of the building exists – it is located underneath the metal grills directly behind Broad Street Mall, with the rooms that remain being used as storage for the shopping mall.
But….do you know anymore? Maybe you have a picture of it, or you once attended. If so, please email in as we would love to include a much fuller story of the venue! Information has so far proved difficult to come by, but we hope to provide a full account soon…
