Amy’s Ghost

Amy’s Ghost are a talented band from Reading fronted by singer/songwriter Amy Barton, who formed after entering ‘Dance of defeat.’ , which is an exciting musical project together. Their combining of a no holds barred approach to playing and a craving to produce original music, this selection of musicians made the natural progression into a live act.

They played at Reading Festival in 2010 on the BBC Introducing stage, which supports unsigned and undiscovered bands.

Amy’s Ghost mixes beautiful vocals with a haunting bass with tribal rhythms and mesmerizing sample loops. Their music dynamically achieves this still being able to bring originally to their songs.

If you thought Amy’s Ghost songs sounded amazing, they excel in their highly visual live performances. The band’s high energy makes the crowd become one, their onlookers become entranced by their music.

Interestingly enough Amy’s Ghost have created their own record label called ‘First Circle Records’ and produced their own album artwork. They recorded their new album at Wispington Studios which is based in Maidenhead. Mark ‘Tufty’ Evans, who’s a producer and sound engineer, has been working with the band to create a more mainstream sound with their music. ‘Tufty’ has had plenty of experience, working with such artists as Girls Aloud, Will Young and Boyzone to name a few.

The band’s first 2 singles ‘Lullaby’ and ‘Paper Boat’ are available now on iTunes and Amazon. Their new album launches on 24th March 2013 and is available by mail order.
